Paul Avril: "Der 2024er Rotwein, den wir Ihnen anbieten, ist ein Jahrgang mit geringer Menge, aber hoher Qualität. Er hat alles, was man sich wünschen kann: Frische, Länge, Ausgewogenheit, Eleganz, Seidigkeit. Ein Jahrgang zum Lagern, den man aber auch in seiner Jugend genießen kann. Der 2023er war kräftiger und reichhaltiger mit Aromen von schwarzen Früchten. Im 2024 finden wir Kirsche wieder, also eher rote Früchte. Die Tannine sind seidig, am Gaumen finden wir Lakritz und einen langen Abgang, Tiefe. Da dieser Wein nicht gefiltert ist, kann bei bestimmten Jahrgängen ein sehr leichter Bodensatz auftreten. Nehmen Sie Ihre Flasche einfach etwas früher aus dem Keller und dekantieren Sie sie. Unsere Weine sollten bei einer Temperatur von 14-15 °C serviert werden. Es ist empfehlenswert, sie zu dekantieren, jedoch nicht mehr als 2 Stunden vorher, da es immer interessant ist, die Entwicklung im Glas zu beobachten."

"Juicy, fresh, blackberry-tinged, vibrant, precise and fresh. Subtle violet note with raspberry, minerals and great length. Will be quite Burgundian with age, feels like a classic vintage and you don't feel the 14.5% alcohol at all. All destemmed, aged in old foudres, yields of just 17hl/ha."

"Cropped at a minuscule 16 hl/ha, the promising 2024 Châteauneuf-du-Pape checks in at 15.1% alcohol. Boasting a whopping 45% Mourvèdre within the total blend, this is a lip-smackingly spicy, fleshy and black-fruited Clos des Papes with stunning intensity. Complex and expressive, the full-bodied 2024 is shaped by ripe tannins and packs notable tension alongside measured opulence, maintaining striking overall balance at all times. Without a doubt, the 2024 Clos des Papes is a candidate for the wine of the vintage."

"A seductive, silky and refined red with cassis, mocha and exotic spices on the nose. It's full-bodied with fine tannins. Lively and precise with an ultra-fine texture. Dense fruit and dark chocolate at this stage. Peppery and vibrant."

"Tasted from multiple foudres as well as the final blend, the 2024 Châteauneuf Du Pape shows the classy, elegant style of the vintage with its medium ruby hue and vibrant, fresh character. Ripe black cherries, pepper, garrigue, assorted spice, and violets define the aromatics, with increasing floral nuances emerging with air. It's medium-bodied on the palate, with fine tannins, outstanding length, and terrific overall balance that should surpass both the 2008 and 2021."

"Bright dark red robe; the nose is wide, trimly sustained, has a lightly peppery top air, appealing red fruits, cherry below – it presents well, shows promise and invitation, very good fruit definition. The palate is supple, fine tuned, smooth tannins in the flow, good linear delivery, sanded tannins within, has nice inner energy, is spritely with a good saline thread in it, darkness in the red fruits from the Mourvèdre. There are pockets of red cherry, cherry tone along the palate. This is an accessible year, a stylish one. “It’s precise, fresh, not too dominated by the Mourvèdre. It was pretty easy to vinify. When you have a big Mourvèdre vintage here, you have to decant it three hours before, 2001 an example with its spicing,” Vincent Avril. From 2028. 2050-52"

Zitat J. Livingstone-Learmonth: "Gold standard estate, joy to taste only one red, one white, so good blending is crucial. The yields are always very low – not much more than 20 hl/ha, which serves to concentrate the red wine, and there is an above average emphasis on the Mourvèdre, all planted in clay soils. The blend is now usually 55% Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre, 10% Syrah, 5% various including white grapes, having been 65% Grenache, 20% Mourvèdre, 10% Syrah, 5% various including white grapes into the early 2010s. The 2014 red was utterly charming, a real en finesse ****(*) beauty, while the 2015 is logically a bolder, more demanding ***** wine, requiring patience. The ***** 2016 red is deep and long, a vintage that will age extremely well. The whites drink well in their first couple of years, then back off, close down, and emerge as more complex, stimulating wines around seven years' old; they live well and deserve a top table accompaniment."
