J. Livingstone-Learmonth (drinkrhone.com): 4/6 Sterne
"Full, dark robe. The bouquet is highly promising, comes with a refined black fruited aroma, a bonny curl of mystery. Its fine-ness is outstanding. The palate picks up the tune of fine fruit, even delicacy in its expression. There are deft tannins well snugged into it. This has great charm, is an elegant, w.o.w. Crozes. It’s not as deep as some 2015s, but plays a very fine tune. From spring 2017. 2022-23"

"Belle's 2015 Crozes Hermitage les Pierrelles is an awfully good entry-level Crozes. It's atypically concentrated and intense, but that's the vintage speaking, providing leather and dried fruit notes and rich tannins. I don't know whether it will age well, but it makes for fine drinking now and over the next few years."

"Coming from the Pont-de-l'Isere region of Crozes, the 2015 Crozes-Hermitage Les Pierrelles sports a deep, inky color as well as terrific notes blackberries, ground herbs, pepper and ample minerality. Medium to full-bodied, with building tannin and notable purity, it's going to drink beautifully for a decade or more."

Zitat J. Livingstone-Learmonth: "...There is high, consistent quality. This is a benchmark domaine, the wines possessing agreeable fruit and sound tannin. The style is modern, but there are complex implications, and some wines are STGT (Soil to Glass Transfer), notably those from Larnage, such as the 2013 Roche Pierre red and the 2014 Terres Blanches white. Excess oaking is no longer an issue..."
