J. Dunnuck: 95-97 / 100 Punkte
"Coming from pure granite soils of the Patou lieu-dit, the 2019 Cornas Patou is another brilliant wine in the making from this small family estate. Revealing a dense purple hue as well as awesome black and blue fruits, ground pepper, beef blood, and spring flower-like aromatics, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a deep, layered mid-palate, building yet ripe tannins, and a monster of a finish. It might need a decade to hit maturity, but it's a phenomenal Cornas that will evolve for 20-30 years."
J. Livingstone-Learmonth: 4,5 / 6 Sterne
"Dark red; plum fruits, blackberries, mixed fruits feature with a good plunge of depth on the nose, notes of iron ping. The palate is doughty, filled up, concentrated on dark red fruits, raspberry essence, with iron thrust, a lot of intensity, is a max grounded Cornas with good, wild outreach, blood-iron along the second half. It’s insistent, carries energy within, has much character, is larger than life. It’s still spartan-rocky, very much so, on the extended finish. It's close to *****. From 2025. 2045-47"
Decanter: 95 / 100 Punkte
"Agreeably old-school style, this has liquorice and herbal bitters on the nose, and is less overtly fruity than some 2018s. A fresh, neat and upright style of Cornas with real impact on the palate, very tight and focussed. Highly saline. There's no excess fat or fruit here, it's all trimmed away to expose the mineral core. Blackcurrant and blackcurrant leaf, this has intense mineral drive and great freshness. Really exceptional, excellent work coming from this domaine lately. Drinkable now, but will be at its best from 2026. A small domaine of 1.5ha, this is from lieu-dit Patou, southeast facing, partly destemmed, fermented in concrete, aged for a year in barriques."
Wine Advocate: 93-95 / 100 Punkte
"This inky pre-bottling sample of Dumien-Serette's 2019 Cornas Patou is certainly impressive. Plummy, cassis-laden aromas lead the way accompanied by hints of wild herbs and crushed stone. Full-bodied, concentrated, tannic and even a little austere, it will require cellaring but should be a beauty in about five years' time."
Wine Spectator: 94 / 100 Punkte
"Ripe, juicy and well built, with a solid core of bramble-edged cassis, bitter plum and blackberry fruit flavors enlivened with sweet tapenade and fresh bay notes. The long, chalky spine is well imbedded through the finish, adding length and cut. Best from 2024."
