Falstaff: 95 / 100 Punkte
"Dunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, dezenter Ockerrand. Animalische Würze, schwarze Beeren und etwas Sattelleder, Nuancen von Lakritze unterlegt, facettenreiches Bukett. Saftig, elegant, reife Kirschen, angenehme Frische, feine, tragende Tannine, mineralisch, süß und anhaftend, sicheres Reifepotenzial, ein vielseitiger Speisenbegleiter."

"Reminding me of a Street market in the South of France, the 2018 Châteauneuf Du Pape Prestige sports a medium ruby/purple if you as well as a smorgasbord of Provençal goodness in its red and black fruits, Provençal herbs, garrigue, and new saddle leather-like aromas and flavors. Beautifully textured, medium to full-bodied, and flawlessly balanced, this is a smoking good 2018, I would be thrilled to have in the cellar. Drink bottles anytime over the coming 10 to 12 years. The blend is 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and the rest a mix of permitted varieties, all from the Les Brusquières and Cabrières lieux-dits, brought up in 60% Foudre, 30% in tronconique tanks, and the rest in demi-muids."

"Aromatically it's a compote of black cherries and blackberries, but the wine finishes dry and fairly tannic. It’s deep and concentrated rather than beautifully elegant, this has enough muscle and grunt to see it improve for a good few years. There’s a nice savoury herb line with bay and thyme with alcohol just a little warming on the finish, but nonetheless a delicious Châteauneuf. From vines grown on mixed soils, mostly galets roulés and sand, in the lieux-dits of Les Brusquières and Cabrières. Fermented half in stainless steel, half in concrete tanks, then aged in large barrels of different shapes and sizes. Drinking Window 2022 - 2030."

"Hints of violets and lavender appear alongside mixed berries on the nose of the 2018 Chateauneuf du Pape Prestige. While not overwhelmingly concentrated or dense, it's beautifully balanced, being medium to full-bodied on the palate, smooth and supple in feel and fresh on the cooling and silky finish, where it adds hints of mocha and darker fruit while retaining a sense of etherealness. It should drink well for a decade, perhaps a bit longer. This benchmark estate continues to tick right along under the stewardship of winemaker Didier Négron, producing Grenache-based cuvées that manage to combine opulence and ripeness with a surprising degree of elegance."
J. Livingstone-Learmonth: 4 / 6 Sterne
"Full, dark red; the bouquet carries a musky, floral side with its sweet plum fruits, has appeal, a gentle curve. The palate is also a rounded affair, sphere-like, expresses Grenache accurately, with its neat plumpness and consistent flow, carries spice near the close. It finishes with enjoyable amounts of fruit and supple tannins. It’s nicely together, has good balance, is a classically refined Châteauneuf. From 2022-23. 2045-47"

"This is nicely packed, with cassis, raspberry reduction and melted red licorice notes all layered together, followed by mesquite and warm stone notes that bloom through the finish. Shows excellent range and character. Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Counoise and Vaccarèse. Best from 2023 through 2036. 1,000 cases made."
