J. Livingstone-Learmonth: 4,5 / 6 Sterne (Bestnote und TOP 4 im Crozes-Hermitage)
"Gleaming yellow robe; has a fat, rather hearty bouquet, almost opulent, peach with apricot skin, has a comfy depth. The palate is nutty, glycerol laden, so its texture is squeezy, cooked citrus in the flavour. It’s rather complex on the quiet, lengthens with almond and aniseed notes. It’s high interest, way to go Crozes blanc, right out of the loop. There’s Marsanne tang on the close, a wee note of bitter. This has the matter to live, will go well with sauced dishes. “It’s intense, concentrated,” Marc Sorrel. 2032-35"

"These 50-year-old vines grown on clay have yielded just 35hl/ha in 2017. Honeysuckle aromas are backed up with intense, tangy dried pear and mango notes. It's a touch oily in texture and very concentrated - a deep, rich expression of Crozes that's more intense than elegant in this vintage."
J. Robinson: 17 / 20 Punkte
"Orange peel, white pepper, some mushroom notes. Fleshy and creamy with lovely biscuit character and a long, mealy finish. Superb orchard fruit. Low acid, but there's a bit of mineral interest to finish."

Zitat J. Livingstone-Learmonth: "One of the few small domaines with vineyards in plum, central sites at Hermitage. Generally traditional outlook. Attempts have been made since the late 1990s to work the vineyards more naturally. Winemaking has become more consistent. The red Hermitage Le Gréal can be very good indeed, a true child of the hill, and is indeed mighty in vintages such as 2010, 2015 and 2017. The Hermitage Les Rocoules white is an STGT (Soil to Glass Transfer) wine. The white Crozes-Hermitage is a cracker, made from 1945 vines, and the epitomy of traditional white Rhône from the happy marriage of Marsanne and Roussanne. This, too is STGT, and has been excellent in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016."
