J. Livingstone-Learmonth: "Full yellow colour; the nose combines table wax and honeysuckle, brioche bread, hazelnut, has an outgoing aroma. The palate strikes well on the attack, is fresh, spearminted with dried fruits such as apricot, a couch of compact content along the second half, is table wine, has the body for pork. There is a wee strictness for now, a touch of tannin on the inside. It’s tucked in on itself for now. I would drink it especially at three years’ old onwards. 2031-32"

The Gonon brothers, true countrymen and taught by their father, make delightful, delicious wines of genuine pedigree. There is a sensible transfer of fruit from mature vineyards to the cellar, where methods are calm and watchful. No new oak in sight. The white is a high-class example of Marsanne, laced with a little Roussanne from a top, south-facing vineyard, Les Oliviers. Both red and white can evolve well over 20 years in the good vintages."
