"Kräftige Nase von Waldfruchtkonfitüre, Tapenade, leicht gekocht, aber angenehm. Im Mund ein cremiger Auftakt für ein gut abgerundetes Tannin, ein fleischiger und charmanter Wein in einem Jahrgang, in dem die Reife der Frucht auf seinen leichten Böden gelingt."

"Full red colour; the nose has a bright, natural red berry fruit aroma that stands its ground, airs of raspberry jam, cool notes, pine tones; it’s advancing well. The palate is well mixed with ripe red berry fruit and herbal, cool cut, ending with that fibre of the stems. The attack is vigorous, while it closes on a tannic-vegetal combo. 50% destemmed. "Opaque ruby. Luscious red and blue fruit liqueur, floral, olive and baking spice qualities on the perfumed nose. Fleshy and expansive on the palate, offering sweet, spice-tinged cherry and blueberry flavors with a touch of smoky minerality. Fine-grained tannins come in late on an impressively long, smooth finish that emphatically repeats the floral and mineral notes. Drink 2026-2035."

The Vieilles Vignes red, occasionally produced in small quantities, is exceptional. The Gonon brothers, true countrymen and taught by their father, make delightful, delicious wines of genuine pedigree. There is a sensible transfer of fruit from mature vineyards to the cellar, where methods are calm and watchful. No new oak in sight. The white is a high-class example of Marsanne, laced with a little Roussanne from a top, south-facing vineyard, Les Oliviers. Both red and white can evolve well over 20 years in the good vintages."
