"Sound, quite dark red; pretty red fruit shows on the early nose, raspberry notably, with herbal tones, a coulis style that is inviting. The palate offers sympa engagement on the attack, carries appealing red berry fruit with mild tannins tucked in on the mid-palate. A cooler tone develops late on. It’s a good example of Cornas comme il faut, not too weather-led, the fruit tasty, really welcoming. It’s very bonny, a spherical wine in the making, with Pinote touches, so elegance. Its late iron, tea leaves notes are very authentic. It’s Burgundian, high appeal Cornas. 2045-47"

"Young and unevolved, the 2021 Cornas Patou is nevertheless promising and has the vintage's fresh, lively style as well as elevated acidity. Ripe black and blue fruits, scorched earth, iron, and some meatiness all define the nose, and it's medium-bodied, has good concentration, and ripe tannins. It's going to require bottle age."

Das Weingut
Nicolas Serrette übernahm 2013 die Geschäfte von Vater Gilbert, von dem er auch das Handwerk in der Tradition der Familie erlernt hat. Erste Erwähnung findet das Weingut bereits Anfang des 16.Jh.
Kern des Besitzes der Familie sind winzige 2 ha „Patou“, eine extrem steile Granitlage, die biologisch, allerdings ohne Zertifizierung bewirtschaftet wird. Je nach Jahrgang werden die Trauben zu 50-80% entrappt, zunächst im Beton und später in mehrjährig gebrauchten Barriques ausgebaut. Die strahlende Frucht steht im Zentrum der Weine mit großer Finesse aber auch den Cornas-typischen würzigen Noten.
