J. Livingstone-Learmonth: 4,5 / 6 Sterne
"Handsome full red robe. The bouquet gives a winning bundle of garrigue airs, black cherry, mulberry, basil and violets. It’s fine, broad and electric in its appeal. The palate links closely to the nose, picks up on the basil theme, issues stylish, cool red fruits with a light knuckle of rocky tannin neatly placed after the mid-point. It ends on a garrigue herbs, fresh, fennel-like clinch, the aftertaste savoury and red-fruited. STGTGigondas that exhibits the finesse of which this appellation is capable. 78% Gren, 14% Syr, 6% Cins, 2% Mourv. From mid-2018. 2029-32"

"Medium deep ruby red colour. Sweet and perfumed nose with floral hints like lavender, cherry, raspberry with dry spices and wild herbs. Polished and smooth texture with good weight and dense fruit, still youthful but balanced with a nice amount of freshness and a long finish with sweet cherry and spice notes."

"The tank sample of Domaine du cayron’s 2015 looks to be excellent. Not only does it show the vintage’s ripe fruit in the form of red plums, stone fruit end supple tannins, it still retains fine details like wisps of fennel, craked pepper and a long, licore-tinged finish. Drink this slightly warm, full-bodied wine from release through 2025."

"Dark ruby. Potent mineral-and smoke-accented cherry, boysenberry and garrigue scents pick up a sexy incense nuance as the wine opens up. Sweet, seamless and penetrating on the palate, offering intense red and blue fruit, spicecake and lavender pastille flavors and a hint of smoked meat. Concentrated yet light on its feet, playing power off finesse with a smooth hand and finishing impressively long, sweet and youthfully tannic. I’d happily lose this wine in the cellar for a while."

"This densely packed, perfumed powerhouse boasts a core of fleshy plum and preserved-cherry flavors. It's rich and velvety on the palate, invigorated by spicy hits of pepper and anise as well as a rambling granite finish. While soft in acidity it's framed by firm, mouthfilling tannins. Enjoy now–2029. It should pair exceptionally well with steak or game."
