"Very dark robe; the nose is sunny, very well filled with busy, stylish black fruits, a note of Indian ink, squid-pulp, vegetal airs on board. It’s going to amplify and really blossom from a large glass. The palate is rolling, generous, starts on a willing sweep of cool black berry fruits before taking up dark tannins, pine needles, the depth on the finish resounding, the whole bunch presence noted there in its smoky canopy. The second half really shows Cornas and its kick ass nature, the first half is flattering, vintage 2020 poise present. This has captured the sunrays of Patou very well, is STGT wine. From 2025, decant it. 2046-48"

"Old school goodness all the way, the 2020 Cornas Patou offers up an awesome nose of bloody blue fruits, leather, iron, and violets. This carries to a full-bodied, structured, tannic, yet pure barrel sample that’s going benefit from 4-6 years of bottle age and keep for two decades. This cuvée comes from 80-year-old vines and is brought up all in older barrels. If you love classic Cornas, give this a whirl."

Das Weingut
Nicolas Serrette übernahm 2013 die Geschäfte von Vater Gilbert, von dem er auch das Handwerk in der Tradition der Familie erlernt hat. Erste Erwähnung findet das Weingut bereits Anfang des 16.Jh.
Kern des Besitzes der Familie sind winzige 2 ha „Patou“, eine extrem steile Granitlage, die biologisch, allerdings ohne Zertifizierung bewirtschaftet wird. Je nach Jahrgang werden die Trauben zu 50-80% entrappt, zunächst im Beton und später in mehrjährig gebrauchten Barriques ausgebaut. Die strahlende Frucht steht im Zentrum der Weine mit großer Finesse aber auch den Cornas-typischen würzigen Noten.
